With a long holiday weekend we decided to head 3.5hrs North of Tokyo by car to Fukishima. Our first stop was worth the trip in of itself. The Hawaiian Center was a huge hit with all three boys (Dylan, Sean and Brycen). It's a massive indoor water park for all ages. Brycen LOVED the lazy river, he seriously had the time of his life all afternoon. Giggles and miles of smiles. Dylan had no fear going down the water slides and diving into all the pools. After a fun afternoon we drove another hour further North and stayed at a Japanese style hotel. Our room was quit unusually large with a tatami room. The boys loved serving green tea to all the adults. The next day we met up with the Rose's friend Allison and her family. Their parents are rice harvesters and it was rice harvesting time!!!! Sean and Dylan climbed on the combine and drove it around and saw the steps of harvesting. We had a tasty Japanese style picnic. From there we drove out to the ocean, played on the pirate ship playground and dipped our feet in the Pacific. Brycen's first ocean dip. The fun didn't stop even when the boys got plummeted with a huge wave and were soaking wet from head to toe. In the evening, we ate a typical Japanese dinner at Alison's house (she is English married to a Japanese man). The next morning we found the most amazing park/playground in Japan! 90 degree drop slides, mile long tube slides, zip lines, and cement slides. Soooooo much fun! Here are a few pictures of our weekend.
