The Butterfly Class walked to the Azabu Fire Station. They got sit in the driver's seat, try on the fireman coat and hat and even sit on the fire truck! Angela and Gus and Lara's mom were brave enough to get into the bucket of the ladder truck and the children watched in amazement as the ladder took them 20m into the sky!
Finally a chance to jam when big bro isn't monopolizing the keyboard! Every chance he gets, Brcyen high tails it over to Max's bowls. Fun times to be had splashing and twirling the bowls. Brycen LOVES Candyland - it's impossible to play with this little Gumdrop relentlessly attacking the game board.
We didn't see much of Greg on his birthday because he was working but we still made a cake and ate a piece before he left for work (at 8:30am!)
Dylan wanted to make a soccer cake for Daddy. When he saw the pretty sprinkles, the soccer cake idea went out the window and it was sprinkle time! Except it was more like, pouring not sprinkling. It's all good.
The decorations in our building this year were so much fun for all the kids. The staff estimated 500 kids came through for trick or treating. Butterfly classmates Dylan and Tommy
Brycen is styling in his orange and black bugaboo all decked out with pumpkin garland.
Brcyen and Blayden playing trains at the Schwartz's house for a Pre Trick or Treating Mexican dinner. Our little Tiger bootie.
With a long holiday weekend we decided to head 3.5hrs North of Tokyo by car to Fukishima. Our first stop was worth the trip in of itself. The Hawaiian Center was a huge hit with all three boys (Dylan, Sean and Brycen). It's a massive indoor water park for all ages. Brycen LOVED the lazy river, he seriously had the time of his life all afternoon. Giggles and miles of smiles. Dylan had no fear going down the water slides and diving into all the pools. After a fun afternoon we drove another hour further North and stayed at a Japanese style hotel. Our room was quit unusually large with a tatami room. The boys loved serving green tea to all the adults. The next day we met up with the Rose's friend Allison and her family. Their parents are rice harvesters and it was rice harvesting time!!!! Sean and Dylan climbed on the combine and drove it around and saw the steps of harvesting. We had a tasty Japanese style picnic. From there we drove out to the ocean, played on the pirate ship playground and dipped our feet in the Pacific. Brycen's first ocean dip. The fun didn't stop even when the boys got plummeted with a huge wave and were soaking wet from head to toe. In the evening, we ate a typical Japanese dinner at Alison's house (she is English married to a Japanese man). The next morning we found the most amazing park/playground in Japan! 90 degree drop slides, mile long tube slides, zip lines, and cement slides. Soooooo much fun! Here are a few pictures of our weekend.
